On this rainy and cold autumn Sunday we made a trip to the Hubertus festival in the bison enclosure Springe.
The traditional hunter's holiday attracted countless exhibitors to the popular excursion destination, which offered a wide variety of delicacies, clothing decorations and information.
Right at the beginning we ran towards the wolves, who watched the SuS with interest. Thereupon we hurried to the flight show, where different birds of prey and hunting birds were presented and demonstrated their skills live.
During the walk along the otters, deer and wildcats the group could not resist the warm lard cakes and other delicacies.
We also had the rare pleasure of discovering the bear of the enclosure, who scratched his tree and went for a swim in the small pond.
The SuS were especially fascinated by the lazy wild boars lying in the mud. And in fact they were even able to stroke the freely accessible reindeer. Also the annual quiz of the bison enclosure with tricky questions to the resident animal species could be solved. With well felt bellies and cold hands we went back to Elze at sunset.
